Bandung Team Building & Corporate Retreat Packages

First Outbound designs and runs team building, gathering and adventure retreats for corporate teams in Bandung, including international ones. Two contrasting highland zones sit within ninety minutes of the city: the northern tea estates and pine forests of West Bandung, and the crater lakes and warm-water rivers of the south. Take the programme on its own, or let us handle the whole trip.

What a Bandung programme actually looks like

Bandung sits in a volcanic bowl at 768 metres, ringed by highlands on both sides. Almost everything a corporate group comes here for (tea estates, craters, rivers, pine forest) is between sixty and ninety minutes from the city centre, which means your team sleeps in one hotel and still gets a genuinely different landscape each day.

The two sides of the bowl have different characters, and that is the first choice to make. North is West Bandung Regency: Lembang, Cikole, Parongpong, Sukawana. Tea-estate off-road, pine forest paintball, a volcano crater you can drive to the rim of, and the deepest supply of resorts and villas. South is Bandung Regency: Pengalengan, Cileunca, Ciwidey, Rancabali. Warm-water rafting, a lakeside war-games ground, and Kawah Putih, a milk-white crater lake reached through the Gambung tea plantation.

The rates below are for the programme: activities, venues, equipment, facilitators, meals during the activity, and documentation. Hotels, flights and inter-city transfers are quoted separately so you can either bring your own booking or hand the whole trip to us. Most international groups choose the second.

Inclusions

What the Bandung package price includes, and what it does not

We publish a programme-only rate rather than an all-in figure, because most corporate groups either hold their own hotel booking or need the accommodation invoiced separately. Nothing below is a hidden extra; it is simply quoted on its own line.

EquipmentYes: paintball markers and masks, rafting boats, helmets and life jackets, game propsAdditional paintball ball refills
CrewYes: Game Master, facilitators, MC, Liaison Officers, safety marshalExtra crew for very large groups

The per-person figure comes down as the group grows, because crew and equipment costs are shared across more participants. Send us your headcount and dates and we will quote the actual number rather than a range.

How to book a Bandung team building programme

  1. Get in touch on WhatsApp +62 856-5561-2983 or by email at 1stoutbound@gmail.com. We answer in English.
  2. Tell us the brief: participant numbers, dates, where the team is travelling from, and what the programme is meant to achieve.
  3. We recommend a zone, north or south, and send a costed itinerary. If we think neither fits, we will say so.
  4. Confirm the details: run sheet, meal arrangements, accommodation if you want us to handle it, and the invoicing terms your finance team needs, all in writing.
  5. Secure the date with a 30% deposit against our invoice. The balance is settled no later than three days before the event.
  6. On the day, the crew, equipment and coach are all in place. Your team arrives and takes part; we run everything else.
Why Bandung

Why Bandung is the right choice for corporate team building and retreats

The Whoosh high-speed line now covers Jakarta to Bandung in about forty-five minutes, Halim to Tegalluar. For a team flying into Soekarno-Hatta, or a regional team assembling from several countries, that puts a working tea plantation roughly half a day from an international arrivals hall. With the airport transfer to Halim, that is realistically two and a half to three hours door to door. Nothing else in Indonesia gets a group from a long-haul flight to highland air that quickly.

What makes the destination unusual is that the two sides of the bowl are genuinely different, so a three-day programme never repeats itself. North gives you Lembang at 1,300 to 1,600 metres: the Sukawana tea estate for off-road, pine forest at Cikole for paintball and ground-based team building, and the Tangkuban Perahu crater you can drive to the rim of. South gives you Pengalengan and Ciwidey: the Palayangan river, Situ Cileunca for lakeside war games, and the white crater lake at Kawah Putih.

Then there is the city itself. Bandung was the Dutch colonial administration's hill station and it kept the architecture: Gedung Sate, Gedung Merdeka where the 1955 Asian–African Conference was held, and the Braga promenade. Pair a highland day with a half-day in the city and the programme alternates adrenaline with something a visiting team will actually remember.

Practically, this is the easiest destination we work in for international groups. The climate holds between 18 and 24 degrees all year. Accommodation runs from six-bedroom villas to four-star hilltop resorts. Vendor supply for off-road, paintball and rafting is deep enough to run parallel activities for a large group rather than queueing everyone through one station. And every element of delivery runs in English and Indonesian as standard: Game Master, facilitators, MC, Liaison Officers, and the documents themselves.

45 minutes from Jakarta

The Whoosh high-speed line covers Halim to Tegalluar in about forty-five minutes. From Soekarno-Hatta, allow two and a half to three hours door to door.

Two highlands, one base

North for tea-estate off-road and pine forest; south for warm-water rafting and a white crater lake. Both within ninety minutes of the city.

A city that is already a course

Gedung Sate, Gedung Merdeka and the Braga promenade give the group an urban half-day that costs the budget almost nothing.

Bilingual as standard

Game Master, facilitators, MC, field crew and every document in English and Indonesian. Not an add-on, not an interpreter standing to one side.

Client experience

An overseas team, run end to end in Bandung

In July 2026 we delivered a full corporate programme in Bandung for IAS Analysis, a client based in Singapore: arrival handling, highland activities, bilingual facilitation and documentation, managed as one engagement from first enquiry to final photo delivery.

That programme is the reason this page exists. It confirmed what we suspected: the operational side of hosting an international team here is not the hard part. The hard part is being reachable, quoting in a way a foreign finance team can approve, and running the day in a language everyone in the room actually speaks. So we built for that.

For teams travelling from abroad

The practical side

Getting here

Fly into Soekarno-Hatta (Jakarta) and continue on the Whoosh high-speed line, or fly domestically into Bandung's Kertajati / Husein Sastranegara. We meet the group on arrival and the coach stays with you for the whole programme.

Language

The Game Master, facilitators, MC and Liaison Officers work in English and Indonesian. Run sheets, safety briefings and the post-event report are delivered in English.

Currency & invoicing

All rates are quoted and invoiced in Indonesian Rupiah, to your company or its local entity. Tell us your finance team's requirements when you enquire and we will confirm the terms in writing before anything is committed.

Group size

Programmes start at 20 participants. The per-person rate falls as the group grows, and we run parallel activity stations rather than one queue once the numbers get large.

If Bandung is not the right fit

Bandung is the easiest destination we work in for a team flying in, but it is not the only one. If your group is large, coastal, or already based in East Java, our Banyuwangi team building and gathering packages cover a different set of venues entirely: rafting at Songgon pine forest, beach games at Red Island, an uninhabited island at Tabuhan, and beachfront gala dinners built for a hundred participants and up.

Tell us where the team is coming from and what the trip needs to achieve, and we will tell you honestly which destination fits, including when the answer is neither of these two.

Frequently asked questions

Is the programme run in English?

Yes. The Game Master, facilitators, MC and Liaison Officers all work bilingually, and briefings, run sheets and the post-event report are in English. Mixed groups of Indonesian and international staff are the case we design for, not an exception.

Does the rate include hotels and flights?

No. The published rate is the programme itself: activities, venues, equipment, facilitators, meals during the activity and documentation. Accommodation, flights and inter-city transfers are quoted separately. We are happy to arrange them, or to work around a booking you already hold.

How do we get from Jakarta to Bandung?

The Whoosh high-speed line runs Halim to Tegalluar in about forty-five minutes. From Soekarno-Hatta airport, allow two and a half to three hours door to door including the transfer to Halim. We can meet the group at the airport and handle the whole leg.

Can we pay from outside Indonesia?

Rates are quoted and invoiced in Indonesian Rupiah. A 30% deposit secures your date, and the balance is settled no later than three days before the event. Tell us what else your finance team needs (invoicing entity, payment method, timing) when you enquire, and we will confirm the terms in writing before anything is committed.

What is the minimum group size?

Twenty participants. There is no upper limit that matters in practice. Vendor supply in both zones is deep enough to run parallel stations for large groups, so the schedule does not stretch as the numbers grow.

What happens if it rains?

Rain ponchos are included and most of the programme continues, because highland weather here is showers rather than washouts. Where an activity genuinely cannot run safely, we swap in an alternative from the same zone rather than cancelling the day, and the decision sits with the Game Master on site.

How far in advance should we book?

Most groups confirm somewhere between a few weeks and a few months ahead. The constraint is usually not our crew but accommodation: villas and resorts in Lembang fill up at weekends and around public holidays, and once a preferred property is gone the whole shape of the trip changes. If your dates are fixed, talk to us early even if the headcount is not final yet.

Can you run a one-day programme instead of two?

Yes. Both the north and south programmes run as a one-, two- or three-day format. A single day works well when the team is already in Bandung, or when the programme is being attached to a conference or an office visit. What changes is the number of signature activities you can fit, not the standard of delivery.

What about participants who cannot do the physical activities?

Nobody has to sit in a coach on their own. We run parallel stations rather than one queue, so participants who would rather not raft or take part in paintball can join the ground-based team dynamics, the leisure and photo stops, or take an observer and scoring role that keeps them inside the game. Tell us about mobility, health or age considerations in advance and we will build the day so that everyone has somewhere to be.

Can you handle halal and other dietary requirements?

Yes. Halal catering is the default across Indonesia, so it needs no special arrangement. Vegetarian, vegan, allergy and other specific requirements are straightforward as well, provided we know the numbers before we confirm the catering order. Send the list with your headcount rather than on the day.

Can the games be built around our own objectives?

That is the normal way we work. The activity list on this page is a starting point, not a fixed menu. Tell us what the programme is meant to achieve, whether that is integrating a newly merged team, onboarding a cohort of new hires, or working on a specific set of company values, and the Game Master designs the sessions and the debrief around it. The post-event report is written against those objectives.

How is safety handled?

Every high-adrenaline activity opens with a safety briefing before anyone takes part. Rafting runs with helmets, life jackets and river guides, and includes a paddling drill on the bank before the boats go in. Paintball runs with masks on at all times and a dedicated safety marshal on the field. The Game Master has the authority to stop or swap an activity on site, and does not need to call anyone for permission. If your company requires specific insurance cover or documentation, tell us at the enquiry stage and we will confirm in writing what is in place before you commit.

Plan your Bandung programme

Tell us the group size, the dates and what the trip is meant to achieve. We will come back with a north or south recommendation and a costed itinerary. Consultation is free, and there is no obligation to book.
